SMS Consent Disclosure
By providing your mobile phone number and completing the opt-in process, you consent to receive SMS messages from ChairSense. We send transactional messages related to appointment scheduling, confirmations, reminders, and booking notifications, and — for clients who separately opt in — marketing messages such as promotional offers, seasonal campaigns, and loyalty rewards.
Message frequency varies based on appointment activity.

How Users Opt In
Users opt in to SMS messaging by:
- Entering their phone number during appointment booking
- Explicitly agreeing to receive SMS notifications
- Receiving messages only after opt-in is completed
ChairSense sends two types of SMS messages: transactional messages (appointment confirmations, reminders, booking updates, and service reminders for clients overdue for a visit) and marketing messages (seasonal promotions, discount campaigns, and loyalty rewards). Marketing messages require a separate, explicit opt-in that is distinct from the transactional appointment reminder opt-in.
Marketing Messages (Separate Opt-In)
Marketing messages — including seasonal promotional offers, discount campaigns, and loyalty rewards — are sent only to clients who have explicitly opted in to receive them. This is a separate opt-in from transactional appointment reminders.
Clients may opt in to marketing messages by:
- Checking a clearly labeled marketing consent checkbox during the booking process (distinct from the transactional opt-in)
- Enabling marketing messages through the client portal preferences

Replying STOP to any ChairSense message will opt you out of all SMS messages from that salon, including both transactional and marketing messages.
ChairSense provides SMS messaging services to help salons and barbershops communicate appointment-related information to their clients. This policy explains what messages you may receive, how you opt in, and how you can opt out at any time.
Program Purpose
ChairSense sends SMS messages for the following purposes:
- Transactional: Appointment confirmations
- Transactional: Appointment reminders (up to 14 days, 7 days, and 2 days before your appointment)
- Transactional: Schedule updates, changes, and cancellations
- Transactional: Interactive appointment management (booking, rescheduling, and status inquiries via our automated assistant)
- Transactional: Customer care and support responses
- Transactional: Service reminders to clients overdue for a visit based on their appointment history
- Marketing (separate consent required): Promotional offers, seasonal campaigns, and loyalty rewards

- "Reminder: You have Haircut with Sarah in 14 days on Sat Jan 15. Reply CONFIRM or RESCHEDULE."

How You Opt In
You will only receive SMS messages from ChairSense after you have explicitly opted in. We use a double opt-in process to ensure your consent is clear and confirmed:
Step 1: Initial Consent
You provide initial consent through one of the following methods:
- Online booking form: By checking an unchecked consent checkbox during the booking process. The checkbox includes disclosure of message types, frequency, data rates, and links to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Client portal preferences: By explicitly enabling SMS notifications through a toggle in your account preferences within the ChairSense client portal. The portal presents a clear opt-in choice with full disclosure before you confirm.
- Inbound keyword: By texting START or YES to the ChairSense number for your salon. Upon receiving START or YES, we will immediately respond with a confirmation such as: “You’ve been subscribed to appointment reminders from [Salon Name]. Msg&data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.” No messages will be sent until this confirmation is delivered.
Step 2: SMS Confirmation (Double Opt-In)
After providing initial consent via the booking form or client portal, you will receive a confirmation SMS such as: "Reply YES to confirm SMS reminders. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel." Your opt-in is only finalized after you reply YES to this confirmation message.
Important — Portal Login (OTP) Is Not Opt-In: Logging into the client portal using a one-time password (OTP) sent via SMS is used solely for authentication purposes. OTP messages are transactional access communications. Receiving a portal login OTP does not, by itself, enroll you in appointment reminder SMS messages. You must separately opt in using one of the methods described above.

Message Frequency
Message frequency varies. The number of transactional messages you receive depends on your appointment activity. You will typically receive a message when an appointment is booked, confirmed, rescheduled, or cancelled, and reminder messages up to 14 days, 7 days, and 2 days before each appointment. Marketing messages are sent only to clients who have opted in separately, and frequency varies by campaign.

How to Opt Out
You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying with any of the following keywords to any message you receive from ChairSense:
- STOP
- STOPALL
- UNSUBSCRIBE
- CANCEL
- END
- QUIT
Your opt-out is honored immediately. You will receive a one-time confirmation in the format: “You have been unsubscribed from ChairSense. No more messages will be sent. Reply START to resubscribe.” You will not receive further SMS messages unless you opt in again by texting START or YES.
You may also opt out by disabling SMS notifications in your client portal account preferences or by contacting us at support@chairsense.online.

Consent Records
ChairSense maintains a complete audit trail of all consent events. Each opt-in and opt-out is recorded with a timestamp, source (booking form, client portal, or inbound keyword), and the associated salon. No SMS messages (other than authentication OTPs) are sent to any contact without a confirmed consent record on file.
