How much does ChairSense cost?
ChairSense offers three plans — The Chair at $39/mo for solo stylists, The Salon at $89/mo for growing teams, and The House at $179/mo for multi-location operations. All plans start with a free trial. No credit card required to get started.
Do my clients need to download an app?
No. ChairSense works entirely through SMS — your clients just need a phone that can text. They can also use the web-based client portal for online booking, with no account or download required.
How do deposits work?
You set a deposit amount per service or provider. When a client books, ChairSense automatically collects the deposit via a secure payment link. If they cancel outside your policy window, the deposit is refunded. If they cancel last-minute or no-show, you keep it. No awkward conversations needed.
Does ChairSense really post to Instagram automatically?
Yes. You upload a photo (or ChairSense pulls from your camera roll), and it writes the caption, adds relevant hashtags, and publishes to your Instagram. Your booking link is included in every post. You can also review and approve before posting if you prefer.
How does the referral program work?
ChairSense identifies your most loyal clients and automatically sends them a personalized referral invite with a unique link. When someone they refer books and completes an appointment, both the referrer and the new client receive a reward — you set the amount. Everything is tracked automatically.
How does ChairSense fill my slow days?
ChairSense monitors your schedule for gaps and identifies clients who are likely due for a visit based on their history. It sends a targeted, personalized text to those clients at the right time. You don't write any message or build any list — it just happens.
How do clients opt in to SMS?
ChairSense uses a TCPA-compliant double opt-in process. When a client provides their phone number at booking, they receive a confirmation text asking them to reply YES before any reminder messages are sent.

Can I customize the reminder messages?
Yes. You can customize message templates to match your salon's voice — include your salon name, the client's name, service, provider, and appointment time.
What happens when a client replies STOP?
The client is immediately opted out and receives a confirmation. Their opt-out is logged in the consent audit trail. They can opt back in at any time by texting START.
